Divisions of Care
Borland-Groover Clinic is devoted to caring for patients in the specialized fields of digestive diseases. We combine specialists from gastroenterology, colorectal surgery, hepatology, pathology, radiology, anesthesia, and allergy. This unique approach forms a comprehensive model of care aimed at providing cutting edge technology coupled with state-of-the-art services, in a quality infused environment.
Quality care is so important to us that we made the decision to provide additional services to our patients. We provide and perform other services such as Imaging, Pathology, Anesthesia, Infusion, and Allergy/Immunology care. All convenient locations. High quality imaging of the digestive tracts and organs, accurate pathology specimen diagnoses from our GI trained pathologist, safely delivered anesthesia medication during procedures, intravenous infusions of advanced medications for IBD, psoriatic arthritis, and osteoporosis to name a few, plus innovative allergy/immunology care that is essential in delivering the exact diagnosis for our patients and their physicians. These support services allows treatment and care to commence more timely. That gives our patients a better chance for recovery.

Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy Center
The Borland-Groover Clinic has physicians dedicated to advanced therapeutic endoscopy. These are minimally invasive procedures, which offer the patient options other than traditional surgery in dealing with clinical dilemmas. Included with these specialized procedures are ERCP with sphincter of Oddi manometry. This is a specialized procedure in which the bowel duct has pressure measurements made to determine whether patients whom after having had gallbladder surgery, who have recurrent right upper quadrant pain, may have dysfunction at a muscle called the ampulla of Vater. Biliary motility, in some of these cases, will help the clinician decide whether to make a small incision and open up this muscle, which oftentimes, if the pressure measurements are abnormal, will relieve the pain.
Endoscopic ultrasound is also a new procedure, which has been offered at Borland-Groover Clinic since 1988. This is a procedure in which a specialized endoscopy with an ultrasound probe is advanced through the mouth and allows access to organs, both visually and therapeutically. Borland-Groover Clinic physicians have been instrumental in the development of pseudocyst drainage, utilizing endoscopic ultrasound scopes.
Most recently, the Borland-Groover Clinic has become active in the aggressive treatment of Barrett’s esophagus. This is a condition in which patients develop cells along their esophageal wall after longstanding reflux. These patients are prone to potentially develop esophageal cancer, and the use of HALO, allows us to eliminate this worrisome change within the esophagus.
The Borland-Groover Clinic is also involved in double-balloon enteroscopy. This is a specialized procedure which allows the endoscopist to see great distances in the small gut. Currently, there are only 52 centers in the United States performing double-balloon enteroscopy, and the Borland-Groover Clinic was one of the very first private clinics to perform double-balloon over 5 years ago.
