Oxana Norkina

Gastroenterologist

Dr. Oxana Norkina is a gastroenterologist at our Baptist Beaches location. After earning a medical degree in 1999 from Novosibirsk State Medical University, Dr. Norkina was involved in biomedical research at the University of Kansas, University of Massachusetts and later at Wayne State University.  Her research on improving disease and treatment outcomes in patients with cystic fibrosis and liver diseases was presented at multiple international scientific conferences.

After completing her Internal Medicine residency and Fellowship in Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology at the University of Florida, she remained as a faculty member there for four years. Dr. Norkina is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology. Her clinical interests include a wide spectrum of liver diseases (infectious and autoimmune hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, fatty liver disease), gastroesophageal reflux disease, celiac disease, constipation, IBS, inflammatory bowel disease and screening for colon cancer.

She believes in a patient oriented approach to medical care. Dr. Norkina is dedicated to providing care based on evidence and scientific knowledge.
